Our History
Earl and Ilah Schmieding opened Rainbow Carwash in 1977. Under their leadership, the small business grew into a carwash and detail service the whole community could enjoy. With the help of their children, grandchildren and in-laws, the car wash continues to thrive today.
Now, Brian Durfery, Earl and Ilah’s grandson, manages day-to-day functions at the carwash while the rest of the family helps with payroll, marketing and special projects.
In Memorium
Earl Schmieding passed away peacefully on March 20, 2021. Earl oversaw operations at Rainbow Carwash into his late 80s, just months before he passed. He left the business in the capable hands of his family. Earl loved spending time with his family, attending church and golfing until his last days. He’s survived by his son, Randy, his daughter, Vicky, and his four grandchildren, Mark, Brian, Stephanie and Grant.
